Past Continuous Tense 

is used to indicated an action which was occuring in the past and was interrupted to another action

Pattern :

a) Subject + was/ were + Verb + -ing

* I was listening to the radio

b) Subject + past countinuous + when + subject + simple past

* I was listening to the radio when my brother went

c) Subject + simple past tense +while + subject + past countinuous

* Johan read a book while Martha was watching television

d) Subject + past countinuous + while + subject + past countinuous

* Martha was wathcing television while John was reading book
